New Zealand Selects Second Team Of Australia's Next Tour Series, Confirms Head Coach Gary Stead



New Zealand national cricket team coach Gary Stead has confirmed that the club's management will select a second team to visit Australia.

The Black Caps will visit Australia in a series of limited-overs starting from Sunday, January 30 to Tuesday, February 8. South Africa will then travel to New Zealand for a two-match Test series and the series will begin on Thursday, February. 17.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead has said the club's management will not select Test players for the team that will travel to Australia on a white ball.

"I don't think any Test players will be involved (in the Australian series)," Stead was quoted as saying by SENZ.

Stead said the decision was taken in view of the difficulty of living in secure blankets and the very short time between the series Australia and South Africa.

"Because of the crossover and the current division, it means we will only have two or three days between the South African (Test) series," he said.

“You will probably see a team like the way we chose to go to Bangladesh before the T20 World Cup where none of our T20 World Cup players visited there; It will be the same, but with a Test slant in this case, "Stead continued.

Notably, before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 New Zealand played in the T20I series in Bangladesh where they fielded a second-tier team and lost the series.

Meanwhile, New Zealand's Australia 2022 tour will consist of three One Day International matches and one T20I match. The ODI series will be played in Perth, Hobart, and Sydney and the T20I will be played in Canberra on Tuesday, 8 February.
